The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.My CommentsPride get us into more trouble than most any thing else! Sad, but many who start out humble in the Lord get lifted up and began to think too highly of themselves! I have observed big name ministries who conducted themselves more like a celebrity than an humble servant of the Lord and the people! Those who do will be brought down, hard; if they don't repent! If we are to be like Jesus we must humble ourselves and become like a little child ministering wherever and whenever we can. The Lord doesn't lift up those full of pride, but the humble. The Pharisee is the one who thinks they are better than everyone else! Those who are humble will hear reproof so they abide among the wise. Those who will not hear reproof hate their own soul! Anyone who gets to the place where they think they know it all is in a very dangerous place! Beloved, there is more the Lord has for His own than any of us have seen! He will reveal Himself to the humble but hide Himself from those who are full of pride. Do we desire to be great in the eyes of people or in the eyes of the Lord? Hear the Word of the Lord - 1 John 2:16-17 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. Some teach we need a higher opinion of ourselves. I submit to you we need a higher opinion of the Lord and who He is, so we become a doer of His will! Meditate on it!PrayerFather God, forgive us when we try to please the people instead of You. Your servants, through out history, have been loved by some and hated by others. We realize it will be the same with us, nevertheless may Your will be accomplished in our lives. Give us grace to walk before You in an humble spirit. We ask, believe we receive, and give thanks in Your Name, Lord Jesus. Amen.
